Frequently Asked

Mica Paper Buyer's Guide

The most common questions from engineers and procurement teams evaluating our mica paper range.

For IEC 60331 / BS 6387 fire-survival cables, the industry-standard choice is phlogopite mica paper — specifically our specialty fire-tape grade with optimized binder and tensile strength. For ultra-demanding applications requiring longer circuit integrity under flame, calcined mica paper is an upgrade. Contact our team for a fire-tape specification sheet.
Both are natural mineral mica papers, but muscovite is white/silver and rated to 500 °C, while phlogopite is amber/brown (magnesium-rich) and rated to 700 °C — 200 °C higher. Muscovite is more economical and has slightly better dielectric properties; phlogopite is preferred whenever higher temperature or higher tensile strength is needed.
Yes. Our slitting lines can produce any width from narrow tape-stock (10–50 mm) up to 1-meter wide jumbo rolls. Custom grammages within each product's nominal range are available — typical MOQ is 500 kg for custom specifications. Lead time for custom orders is 15–25 days.
For standard stock items: MOQ ~500 kg, lead time 3–7 days. For made-to-order production runs: MOQ varies by grade (typically 1 ton for synthetic, 500 kg for other grades), lead time 15–25 days. Rush production available with small surcharge — discuss with your sales contact.
Yes. Every shipment includes a batch test report with dielectric strength, tensile strength, mass loss, and air permeability. Third-party laboratory reports available on request. Our manufacturing is ISO 9001 certified. Products meet IEC 60371, IEC 60626, and can be specified for IEC 60331 fire-resistant cables.
Rolls are individually wrapped in moisture-barrier plastic, then corner-protected and shrink-wrapped onto fumigated wooden pallets. We ship via sea freight (FCL/LCL), air cargo, and express courier (DHL / FedEx / UPS / TNT). We handle all export documentation including commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, fumigation certificate, and MSDS.
