Frequently Asked

Mica Plates Buyer's Guide

The most common questions from engineers and procurement teams evaluating our mica plate range.

Thick mica plate (3-20mm) is the heavy-duty structural option — ≥200 MPa bending strength for load-bearing applications. Rigid mica plate (0.1-100mm) is the widest-range hard plate — cold-press for thin sheets, CNC machining for thick blocks. Flexible mica plate (0.1-2mm) bends and wraps without cracking — 40% lighter than rigid plates, perfect for motor coils and wire harnesses.
Choose muscovite (silver white, 500°C continuous / 700-800°C intermittent) for standard applications below 600°C — more economical. Choose phlogopite (amber, 700-750°C continuous / 900-1000°C intermittent) for high-temperature applications above 600°C — industrial furnaces, metallurgy, aerospace. Both offer identical physical properties otherwise.
Three options depending on your operating temperature: Silicone (up to 1000°C, premium cost) for extreme high-temperature applications like industrial furnaces. Epoxy (up to 600°C, mid-range) for motors and transformers — the most common choice. Phenolic (up to 400°C, economical) for low-voltage appliances and consumer products.
Yes. We offer CAD-based precision die-cutting, CNC milling, drilling, turning, and grinding to ±0.1mm tolerance. Thin plates (≤2mm) can be cold-pressed, laser-cut, or water-jet cut. Thick plates (≥2mm) are machined using CNC equipment. Send us your CAD drawings and we'll quote ready-to-install parts. Minimum order 500 kg, lead time 15-25 days.
For standard stock items (common thickness/size): MOQ ~500 kg, lead time 3-7 days. For custom specifications (width, thickness, die-cut shapes, custom resin): MOQ 500 kg-1 ton depending on grade, lead time 15-25 days. Rush production available with small surcharge. For ongoing OEM customers, we offer VMI (vendor-managed inventory).
ISO 9001 certified manufacturing, with IATF 16949-aligned processes for automotive customers. Products meet UL94 V-0, RoHS, REACH, and asbestos-free requirements. Testing per IEC 60371-2 (mica content/density), IEC 60243-1 (dielectric strength), GB/T 5019.2 (bending/water absorption). Third-party laboratory reports available for automotive/aerospace approvals.
